Leadership and Emotional Intelligence
Research in a variety of companies has demonstrated that training leaders and manager’s in emotional intelligence is both possible and brings about significant bottom line results. Given the relationship between aspects of emotional intelligence and various performance outcomes, training in emotional intelligence has enormous potential for organizational return on investment. For instance, training in emotional intelligence has been found to reduce turnover, absenteeism, and increase engagement, sales performance and productivity.
Going forward, there will be a need for people to learn mindfulness which helps develop compassionate leadership - this will be required of leaders as we move into the "new normal".
